Full-Day Abel Tasman National Park Hiking Tour with Cruise
Your guide will pick you up in a Mercedes from your Nelson accommodation at approximately 8am to begin your exploration of this breathtaking region. Nelson is surrounded by national parks and the sea, known for its abundant sunshine hours. As you drive to meet your water taxi, you will pass through orchards and market gardens that supply much of the fresh produce in New Zealand.
Upon arriving at Kaiteriteri, one of the top beaches in New Zealand, walking sticks and backpacks will be provided if needed before boarding the water taxi at 9:15am. You will embark on a scenic cruise over calm turquoise waters, passing by islands with seals and filled with birdsong. The journey will showcase stunning coastline, ultimately delivering you to the heart of the park around 10:30am.
Your guide has been carefully chosen for their maturity, experience, and knowledge of Abel Tasman National Park. They will lead you along well-maintained tracks through lush forests, pointing out medicinal and edible plants with unique features. You will learn about the significance of the region to Maori, Dutch, and European history, as well as the early settlers. Refreshments will be provided at picturesque viewpoints along the way, and after 2.5 hours, a gourmet lunch will be served on the golden sands of Torrent Beach.
In the afternoon, a 2-hour walk will take you around the Torrent Bay estuary to Anchorage, where you will be picked up by your water taxi for the return cruise to Kaiteriteri. From there, you will be driven back to your accommodation by 5pm.
